Working in collaboration with the City of Los Angeles Mayor's office and the Office of Protocol, with the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau (LA, INC.), the International Visitors Council the Council, and the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department’s Neighborhood Tourism Initiative, the African Marketplace has actively pursued strengthening the urban community’s access and use of “Sister City” relationships, and promoting to African American tourist agencies and tour operators to the general population.

Over the years, the African Marketplace has proven its enormous potential as a magnet for tourists. It is in a class by itself when it comes to broad outreach to the myriad of ethnic groups represented in the Southern California and the western region of the United States.

Other community events, and all Chambers of Commerce are partners in this effort to increase business in Los Angeles through the development of a viable option that allows tourist to experience the lifestyle and contributions by African Americans to the growth and development of the City of Los Angeles.
